What’s chipping on board

Chipping on board, also known as cargo stowage, is the process of loading cargo on a ship. This process usually involves loading cargo containers in their designated places on the ship. This can be done manually by using cranes or automatically by using a cargo lashing system. In some instances, cargo is moved around on the deck of the ship to create a balanced load, which is known as chipping.
