| S.N0 | Compliance Parameter | Status (C/NC/P/N/A) | Remarks / Evidence | Corrective Action |
|------|----------------------|---------------------|--------------------|--------------------|
| I. | Trees cut only where absolutely necessary; minimum vegetation clearance practiced | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | Efforts to avoid crops and native/community trees noted, but worker and operator negligence caused additional, preventable tree damage.| |
| II. | Workers prohibited from cutting trees/wood for cooking or heating; gas cylinders provided | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | LPG is used for cooking; no tree cutting was observed on site.| Recommend monitoring to prevent accidental damage to roadside trees. |
| III. | Photographic & botanical inventory of vegetation completed before site clearing | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | A detailed record of all cut trees maintained for compensation purposes.| |
| IV. | Workers showing responsible behavior by avoiding harm to crops and trees in adjacent farming fields | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | No evidence of harm to adjacent farming fields was observed.| |
| V. | Up-to-date well-tuned machinery with reduced noise | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | All machines are operational and within noise limits.| |
| VI. | No ill-maintained or noisy machinery used near communities | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | Worksite is adequately distanced from community areas.| |
| VII. | Water sprinkling carried out at dust-prone areas- especially near communities | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | Sprinkling is for compaction, not for dust control.| |
| VIII.| Wastewater from washing areas & kitchen released into sumps (not direct to streams) | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | Discharge is directed to sumps, no release into streams.| |
| IX. | Are laborers polluting the site or nearby water bodies? | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | Laborers lack awareness; training recommended.| |
| X. | Safe storage and refueling of fuel stock | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | Fuel is stored safely at the campsite.| |
| XI. | Prompt performance of machinery maintenance | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | All equipment is in fit condition, maintained timely.| |
| XII. | Drinking water & sanitation at camps is satisfactory | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | Sanitation is adequate but laboratory testing pending.| |
| XIII.| Safety sign boards displayed at construction site | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | All safety signs are prominently displayed.| |
| XIV. | Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided & used by workers | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | Required PPE not being worn by workers.| Implement immediate supply of PPE. |
| XV. | Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for site engineers and inspectors | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | Required PPE not being supplied to site engineers.| Implement immediate supply of PPE. |
| XVI. | Complaint Register maintained at work site | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | No register present; tree cutting documentation maintained.| Establish complaint register. |
| XVII.| Machinery movement restricted to designated haulage routes | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | All movements restricted to designated routes.| |
| XVIII.| Underage employment strictly prohibited | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | No underage workers found on site.| |
| XIX. | First aid facilities & emergency vehicle available on site | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | No facilities available.| Establish first aid and emergency vehicle availability. |
| XX. | Noise levels in camp under permissible levels as per NEQs | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | Noise levels are acceptable.| |
| XXI. | Noise & light pollution from labor camp kept minimal| ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | Both types of pollution are within limits.| |
| XXII.| Areas of the worksite with significant erosion problem | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | Cutting and filling affecting natural slopes.| Apply temporary stabilization measures. |
| XXIII.| Excavation affecting water pollution through sediment inputs | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | No observed sediment input issues.| |
| XXIV.| Low speed limits maintained to avoid livestock damage | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | Vehicle speeds are appropriately managed.| |
| XXV.| Current activities affecting community utilities | ☐ C ☐ NC ☐ P ☐ N/A | No ongoing effects on community utilities.| |
#### Inspector's Remarks and Recommendations
**Key Observations:**
1. Workers are demonstrating commendable practices by protecting crops and trees, using LPG for cooking, and ensuring that machinery is operational with acceptable noise levels.
2. However, critical gaps have been identified, including the absence of personal protective equipment, first aid facilities, an emergency vehicle, and a complaint register. Additionally, there has been a notable lack of environmental awareness among workers and no laboratory testing has been conducted on drinking water.
3. Past negligence has led to damage of roadside trees due to boulder impacts, while current cutting and filling activities risk exposing slopes to erosion.
**Overall Compliance Assessment:** ☐ Satisfactory ☐ Partially Satisfactory ☑ Unsatisfactory
**Recommendations:**
1. Immediate provision of PPE, establishment of first aid facilities and an emergency vehicle at the site, as well as the creation of a complaint register are essential.
2. It is also strongly recommended to arrange for laboratory testing of drinking water quality and to conduct environmental stewardship training for all workers.
3. Efforts should be taken to implement temporary erosion controls and protect vulnerable roadside trees until permanent measures are put in place.
4. The Chief Resident Engineer (CRE) is kindly requested to liaise with the relevant Forest and Agriculture departments to facilitate compensatory plantation with suitable tree species.
