President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council
As of my last update in October 2023, Xi Jinping is the President of China and has held power since 2013. He is also the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), making him the most powerful political figure in the country. Under his leadership, China has undergone significant changes in various areas, including economic policy, foreign relations, and internal governance.
Li Keqiang served as the Premier of the State Council of China, holding office from 2013 until the conclusion of the National People's Congress in March 2023. As Premier, he was responsible for the country's economic policies and the day-to-day administration of the government. He oversaw various reforms and initiatives aimed at sustaining economic growth, addressing environmental issues, and improving social welfare.
As of March 2023, Li Keqiang has been succeeded by Li Qiang, who took over as Premier following the 14th National People's Congress, where the new government leadership was confirmed. Please check for the latest updates on China's political landscape for any further developments.
