My son is 4 years and started to speak word and few sentences when he can speak fluently
Children develop language skills at different rates, but many start to form sentences around 2 years of age. By 4 years, most children can speak in fuller sentences and have a vocabulary of several hundred words. Fluency continues to improve through practice and social interactions.
At around 4 years old, your son may begin to:
- Speak in longer sentences (3-5 words or more).
- Use more complex grammar.
- Tell simple stories or describe events.
- Ask questions and express thoughts or feelings.
To support his language development, encourage him to:
1. **Read Together**: Engage with books that interest him. Discuss the pictures and relate the story to his life.
2. **Talk Regularly**: Engage in conversations throughout the day and encourage him to express his thoughts.
3. **Play**: Interactive playtime, especially with other children, can enhance communication skills.
4. **Listen and Respond**: Acknowledge what he says to foster more conversation.
If you have concerns about his speech and language development, consulting a pediatrician or a speech-language pathologist can provide guidance and support.
