How to change a boys diaper

1. Gather all necessary supplies: Before you change a boy's diaper, make sure you have all the necessary supplies within reach. These can include a clean diaper, wipes, diaper cream, changing pad, and a change of clothes. 2. Prepare the changing area: Choose a safe and clean spot to change the diaper. Lay out a changing pad or a clean towel on the surface to protect it from any accidents. 3. Lay the baby down: Lay the baby on the changing pad and unfasten the dirty diaper. Lift the baby's legs by gently grasping both ankles with one hand and supporting the baby's back with the other hand. 4. Clean the diaper area: Use a baby wipe or a damp cloth to gently wipe the baby's bottom clean. Be sure to thoroughly clean the creases and folds in the diaper area. If the baby has a rash, apply a small amount of diaper cream to protect the skin. 5. Lift and position the baby: Gently lift the baby's legs and slip the clean diaper under their bottom. Make sure the diaper is centered and the top of the back edge is aligned with the baby's waist. 6. Fasten the diaper: Bring the front of the diaper up between the baby's legs and fasten the tabs snugly around the baby's waist. The diaper should be snug but not too tight. 7. Clean up: Use wipes to clean any remaining pee or poop off the baby's skin. Wipe gently from front to back to avoid spreading germs. If the baby had a bowel movement, make sure to clean the buttocks and then the genitals. 8. Dress the baby: If necessary, dress the baby in a clean outfit and put the used diaper and wipes in a plastic bag for disposal. 9. Wash your hands: After changing your baby's diaper, always wash your hands with warm water and soap to prevent the spread of germs. Tips: - Always keep one hand on the baby during the diaper change to prevent them from rolling off the changing surface. - Have a distraction, such as a toy or a song, to keep the baby still and entertained during the diaper change. - If the baby has a severe diaper rash or persistent diaper rash, consult a doctor for further treatment. - Always wash your hands thoroughly before and after changing a diaper to prevent the spread of germs.
