Hello. I was hoping you might know why a Sylvania set top DTV converter box would randomly stop recording on an inserted thumb drive then say no disk detected?

There could be several reasons for this issue: 1. Faulty thumb drive: It is possible that the thumb drive itself may be faulty and is unable to store the recordings properly. 2. Limited storage space: If the thumb drive is almost full, the converter box may stop recording to prevent data loss. 3. Incompatible file system: Some converter boxes are only compatible with certain file systems, such as FAT32 or NTFS. If the thumb drive uses a different file system, it may cause issues with recording. 4. Power interruptions: If there are power interruptions while recording, it may cause the converter box to stop recording and display the "no disk detected" message. 5. Software/firmware issues: It is also possible that there may be a glitch in the software or firmware of the converter box, which can cause it to stop recording or not recognize the thumb drive. To troubleshoot this issue, try using a different thumb drive with enough storage space and using the recommended file system. Also, ensure that there are no power interruptions while recording. If the issue persists, you may need to contact the manufacturer for further assistance or consider getting a new converter box.
