Projection: Someone who is jealous of their coworker accuses the coworker of being jealous of them. 4. Reaction formation: A person who strongly disapproves of their friend’s same-sex relationship constantly expresses support for the relationship and compliments the couple. 5. Displacement: A person who is frustrated and angry with their boss takes out their anger on an unsuspecting colleague by making rude comments. 6. Rationalization: After underperforming in an exam, a student tells themselves that the exam was overly difficult and that their bad performance was due to bad luck, not lack of preparation.
