Gidget is an American sitcom series created and written by Douglas Morse and Red ..Goddard. The series starred Sally Field as Gidget, an adventurous, teenage girl who spends her summer vacation with a close family friend and his family, Uncle Ray (Don Porter) and his daughter, and Gidget's best friend, Larue. The series aired from 1965 to 1966 on ABC. It is loosely based on the popular novel and subsequent films of the same name, but with a modern twist.
