Executive Order no 70 Anti Terrorism Law Human Security Act

American Law Library The Executive Order no. 70 is a Philippine government measure issued in 2018 by President Rodrigo Duterte to institutionalize a whole-of-government approach in addressing the root causes of conflicts and insurgency in the country. It aims to promote sustainable and inclusive peace through addressing the socioeconomic, political, and security issues in vulnerable areas. The order creates the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict and mandates the coordination and support of all government agencies in implementing programs and projects to promote peace and development. The Anti Terrorism Law or known as Human Security Act of 2007 is a comprehensive legislation that aims to prevent and suppress terrorism in the Philippines. It provides a legal framework for the country to combat terrorist acts both domestically and internationally. The law defines terrorism as an act committed with the intention to cause widespread and extreme fear and panic among the civilian population, worried the government or international organizations, and seriously undermine public safety.
