Jacob, also known as Israel, is considered the greater father in Judaism because of his role as the ancestor of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Jacob's descendants eventually became the unified kingdom of Israel and are still considered the spiritual fathers of Judaism today. As such, Jacob has a special place in the spiritual traditions of Judaism.
