Violet stumbled through the dimly lit apartment, confusion swirling in her mind. Just moments before, she had been checking on Grace’s lifeless body, despair choking her heart. But now, she found herself back in her own space, the echoes of panic still ringing in her ears. The sense of urgency gripped her. "Grace!" she shouted, racing down the hall toward her friend's room, her heart pounding with fear. Upon flinging the door open, her breath caught in her throat. Grace lay sprawled on the bed, her pale skin slick with blood, the crimson stains soaking into the sheets. "Grace!" Violet screamed, rushing to her side, tears streaming down her cheeks. She grabbed Grace's shoulders, shaking her gently, but panic set in as she realized how unresponsive her friend was. Suddenly, a hand shot out, grasping Violet's wrist with unexpected strength. Violet’s breath hitched as she looked down, only to be met with the eerie gaze of Future Grace—her eyes dark and hollow, a twisted smile spreading across her face. In a blind panic, Violet fought against the grip, adrenaline coursing through her veins. "Let go of me!" she shouted, but Future Grace's strength was overwhelming. “Violet,” Future Grace crooned, her voice slick and mocking, “you should have stayed away...” But there was something wrong, something off about her that Violet couldn't put her finger on. Just as Violet felt herself being pulled into a suffocating darkness, Lucas burst into the room. He took in the scene in an instant—Violet struggling against Future Grace, and without hesitation, he charged forward. With a powerful shove, he pushed Future Grace away, causing her to stumble back with a hiss. “No!” Violet cried out, but Lucas was already on top of it, pulling her away from whatever horrors Future Grace could unleash. Future Grace laughed, a cold, sick sound that echoed off the walls. Blood trickled from the corners of her mouth as she watched Violet, reveling in the chaos she had inspired. “You can’t save her... It’s too late,” she taunted, her laughter mingling with the sounds of Violet's sobs and Lucas's frantic attempts to keep Violet calm. In that moment, Violet felt her world shatter as she and Lucas hurriedly loaded Grace into his car. They raced to the hospital, the sirens of doubt and dread piercing through Violet's mind. Grace was barely alive, fighting against the darkness that threatened to consume her. Meanwhile, outside the hospital, Future Grace lurked in the shadows, her laughter hauntingly echoing through the night. She gazed down the street toward Violet, exhilarated by the fear she had sown, ready to strike again when the moment was right. The game was just beginning, and she found an unsettling joy in knowing that she had the upper hand.
